Lake Wales senior, Anderson Denton, went sub 15 minutes to finish third at Great American Festival. Satellite was the top Florida team finisher. 

The Belen boys and Chiles girls demonstrated they are two of the top teams in the state with their back to back team titles. 

With 10 races over two days, the 36th Annual Spanish River Invitational was one of the largest meets in South Florida history!

The two favorites going in are probably Carlos Miranda of Palmetto Ridge and Avery Lopez of Belen Jesuit. Miranda hasn’t really shown himself yet this season, but put up a 15:17 at Pre-State last season and had a 15:30 road race win in August. Lopez is the new leader for the Belen Jesuit dynasty and has a couple of wins under his belt already this season including UF and Fleet Feet. He is also coming off of a stellar track season.

What can you say about a performance like that of Belen Jesuit yesterday? The Florida cross country hardcore knew they were witnessing one of the greatest team performances in state meet history.

After a successful Pre-State Meet, three Florida teams find themselves ranked in the latest NHSCA National Cross Country Rankings, produced by XC Nation.

Belen Jesuit senior year Elliot Clemente is one of the top cross country runners in the state regardless of class. Last year, Clemente finished as the 3A runner-up in 15:25.07 and two weeks later set a new personal best of 15:03 to place fifth at the Foot Locker South regional and advice to nationals in San Diego where he finished 25th in the field of forty.
