Andrew Weber of the First Baptist Academy is atop the Freshman Boys returners rankings for the eighth graders that ran a 5K in XC during the 2024 season. Weber was the FLYRA Private-Charter Boys Champion with a 9:55.88. His 16:42.00 came on a fast North Port course.  He was 57th in the 1A FHSAA State Finals.


In looking at the top returning 8th graders from last year who make up the Freshman class for the 2025 Cross Country season, two categories must be considered: The top returners who ran a 5000m race last year as 8th graders and those who only competed in the middle school 3000m distance. Andrew Weber of the First Baptist Academy leads the Top 100 Freshman Boys Returners in considering those returners who ran a 5000m race last fall. He was the only sub-10 runner in the FLYRA Middle School State Cross Country Championships with a 9:55.88 in his win in the Private-Charter race.
