Alba Antunez-Perez of Spanish River HS, opened her 2026 campaign with an impressive Florida No. 7 run at the Spanish River XC Invitational on Saturday. The senior just missed dipping under 18:00 in a dominant win on a wet and muddy course, crossing the line in 18:03.19.

In week five of the girls' 2026 season, four girls ran sub:18:00. Annabella Tomasic of Bishop Moore led the way with a 17:24.00 at the Katie Caples Invitational. The sophomore improved her time from her 3rd-place 18:28.31 finish at the Florida Horse Park Invitational two weeks ago by an impressive 59.69 seconds.
