After missing out on a state championship in 2011 by just three points to Providence, Coach Edwin Mctureous led the ladies of Oak Hall to their first cross country team title in school history in 2012.

Coach Tony Ryan is in his tenth year as head coach of the Bolles girls team. In 2012, he led the Lady Bulldogs to another state title in the programs successful history.

Coach Sommer has helped Estero become of the best girls teams in the state year in and year out. The Wildcats recently won their third state title in three years.

Coach Frankie Ruiz has guided Belen Jesuit to one of the most dominant boys programs in state history. The Wolverines have won six teams titles in the last seven years.

Coaching Champions: Doug Butler (Holy Trinity) Todd Grasley Nov 30, 2012

Coach Doug Butler has the most overall state titles of any coach and he continued that trend in 2012 when he picked up his 12th overall and sixth boys state championship.

Coach Kevin Curran picked up his first cross country state title as a head coach while leading Bishop Kenny boys to this year's 2A crown.

Coach Trish Butler guided the St. Thomas Aquinas girls to their first team title in 2012 after coming so close in year's past.

Coaching Champions: Rene Plasencia (Colonial) Todd Grasley Nov 27, 2012

Flrunners is reaching out to interview and recognize all of the head coaches from the victorious cross country state championship teams to give them the opportunity to reflect and share their feelings and thoughts on their team's successful fall seasons culminating with state team titles. Rene Plasencia guided the Colonial Grenadiers to their first team title in any sport in the school's history last year. In 2012, he repeated that success with another 4A state championship.
