Niceville Distance Corp Cleans Up At Mobile Meet Of Champions, Florida Throwers Find Success

Niceville was one of a handful of north Florida schools to make the trek to Mobile, Alabama for the Mobile Challenge of Champions at St. Paul's Episcopal High School. The Eagles showed the other state's in attendance how Florida does it. Coach Jamie LaFollette says they go to the meet each year for a number of reasons.

Warriors and Wolves Topple County Towers

No one besides Plant, Hillsborough and Wharton has won the Vernon Khorn Hillsborough County track championships, boys or girls, for the last three years. Tuesday at Jefferson ushered in a changing of the guard as the Steinbrenner girls comfortably out-paced the field with 91.5 to second-place Wharton with 78. Freedom girls were third with 61.

Orange Belt Conference: St. Cloud Girls & Liberty Boys Crowned Queen And King Of Osceola County

We are on the brink of the playoffs for track season. Schools are trying to get in those last tune ups before the state series begins and legacies get established. Osceola County held its conference championships Tuesday evening at St. Cloud.

Florida Relays Day Three: US#1's Abound As South Florida Teams Sweep 4x1, 4x4, & 4x8 Titles

South Florida cleaned house on the final day of the 2014 Florida Relays producing several meet records, US#1's and nationally ranked performances. Miami Northwestern swept both the girls and boys 4x800m relays while the STA girls reeled in victories in the 4x4 and 4x1 with the Booker T. Washington boys accomplishing the same feat. UF Track & Field Posts Multiple Collegiate and World-Leading Marks On Day Two Of #FLRelays14

On the second day of the 2014 Pepsi Florida Relays, it was all about the Orange and Blue – and the 200 and 400-meter races were all the buzz Friday afternoon as the two-day attendance at Pressly Stadium increased to 2,263 track and field faithful. Gator junior sprinter Dedric Dukes clocked a world-leading 19.97 (-0.6), the second-fastest time in Florida history and the eighth-best time in collegiate history, while sophomore Kyra Jefferson got it done on the women’s side with the fastest collegiate 200m this season and a new UF record with her 22.78 (-0.6) in a race that featured the two fastest marks in the world this year.(via www.gatorzone.com)

The USA Area Youth Olympic Selection Trials were held in Miramar, Florida over the weekend with a small but elite group of top high school athletes in the nation along with athletes from nine other countries in North America, Central American, and Caribbean Islands to make themselves eligible to be chosen to compete in the IAAF Youth Olympic Games late this summer in China as part of the "Team for the Americas".
