Senior Joshua Hicks of Chiles HS is currently the #4-ranked Florida boy. Last weekend, he won the HOKA Nights of Thunder in 15:27.90. In the 2024 season, through week 4, he had run 16:54.00 in a 4th-place finish at the HOKA Nights of Thunder. His 1:26.10 improvement is the best of any of the currently ranked Top 10 runners in the state.

The most significant improvement from 2024 to 2025 through Week 4 of each season came from Lake Minneola junior Quentin Thompson. Thompson was 14th at the Annual Hawks on the Hill Invitational in 2024 on Sept 14th with an 18:13.08. This season, he won the 2nd Annual Sunset Invitational on Aug 27th in 15:40.90, marking a dramatic 2:32.19 improvement. He went from a non-Top 20 athlete to a #13 ranking at this time.
