Girls 3200m Run
The girls 3,200m will feature a handful of runners who have broken 11 minutes and will feature indoor 3K state champion Ava Povich of Evangelical Christian.
Povich enters with a 10:51 personal best from last weekend's FSU Relays.
Two others seeded behind her had breakthrough sub-11 minute races a week ago in Tallahassee: Sickles senior Alexandra Raquet (10:54) and freshman Caroline Couch of Maclay School (10:57).
Two of South Florida's best distance runners -- Avery Fronrath from the KIng's Academy and Addison Boyer of South Fork -- will certainly be in contention as well with their sub-11 credentials also.
The race, however, might go to someone who has yet to break 11 minutes in the 3,200m but is certainly capable. That would be Creekside freshman Alyson Johnson, who has defeated Povich indoors at the 3K distance with a 10-flat best.
Johnson was the Bolles Bulldog Classic 3,200m champion earlier this spring in a 11:02 PR.
