The Maclay boys finished second in 2015 by fourteen points to Father Lopez. The Marauders return four of their top seven including a trio of James McClure, Jake Mazziotta, and Clay Milford who have the potential to finish in the top ten overall. Coach Droze knows all about winning and tradition and will face a stiff test from Bishop Snyder. We rank the top 10 boys teams in 1A.
Lakeland Christian senior Mallory White is a two-sport star. She finished 29th at the 1A Cross Country Championships in 2012 and has earned 10 medals in track and field leading up to her senior year. In between the two sports, White goes into soccer mode.
Casey Brady ate his American cheese instant grits Thursday morning to fuel his body before the Class 1A, District 9 meet at Holloway Park. The night before, McKeel Academy teammate Dustin White held a carb party where the team filled up on plenty of pasta to get ready. (via PolkPreps.com)
It was a beautiful Thursday afternoon at the Sydney Dover Trails in Brandon for the Seffner Christian Invitational. Nearly a dozen teams made the trip to the course which they ran backwards for this race. They started off in a nice open field before testing their toughess on the sugary sand trails and mini hills the course threw at them. Jeff Adams was on-site with over one thousand photos!
Blue and orange runs ramped in the Mutz household. The tradition will continue when Lakeland Christian senior Mark Mutz heads to the University of Florida. Mutz will become the sixth member of his family to become a Gator, but the first to go there for both academics and athletics. He says it was a decision that came down to the final hours.
Mark Mutz and Mallory White both kicked it into high gear for Lakeland Christian to win the 5K Polk County cross-country Championships Saturday morning around the soggy, slow course at Lake Region Senior. (via PolkPreps.com)
