The Florida FHSAA District meets are in the books. Regionals are May 2-3 for all divisions. Check out the top 100 boys' performances by event from the last two weeks of FHSAA district meets in Florida. Times as the district meets can be misleading, with athletes running just to advance and with the at-large bids. Through all of the 64 district meets, there was one Florida number one performance. Belen Jesuit sophomore, Marcelo Mantecon moved to the top of the rankings in the 1600m with his 4:07.28 in the 3A District 16 championships. Mantecon moved ahead of another sophomore in the rankings, Gulf Breeze's Andrew Beroset who had held the number one position for most of the season with a 4:08.52. If both move through their respective regionals, we will see a highly anticipated rematch of last years 3A boys race which Belen's Joseph Socarras won in 4:04.53, with Mantecon third in 4:10.88 and Beroset fourth in 4:11.27.
