One of the state's top distance recruits, Caleb Pottorff of Lincoln Park Academy, is now off the board. The senior selected FSU over a top four that also consisted of UNF, UF, and High Point. Pottorff was the 2A Cross Country Finals runner-up in 2015, runner-up in the 1,600m at state, and won his first gold medal in the 3,200 with a time of 9:16.39. We caught up with him to discuss the decision to be a Seminole, the 2016 season, and more.

Pottorff, was the 2A runner-up in cross country in 2015, and finished his junior track season as the 3,200m state champion and 1,600m state runner-up. He will be one of the most sought after distance recruits out of the Sunshine State this year and we are honored to be able to share in his journey.
Lincoln Park junior Caleb Pottorff (seen here at the FSU Relays) won the district 3,200m title for the third straight year. His time of 9:38.57 was the best of any at this week's district meets while his 4:22.89 ranks sixth. A plain white top with the number 284 written across his chest. For former Lincoln Park Academy and University of Florida runner Matt Hensley, his fourth Boston Marathon was about more than a race. After running 2:23 several times and a 20th place finish in 2012, Hensley was 24th out of thousands of runners who participated. He clocked a very impresive time of 2:19.51, but he says all that didn't matter.

For the fifth year in a row a pair of kids named Hensley enter the cross country season as Lincoln Park Academy\'s top two runners. After promising track seasons for each, the fall outlook is looking bright for the pair and for LPA.
