So. Marcelo Mantecon led the charge with the fastest time of the day for the Belen Jesuit young men in the 3A Championship running a 14:57.80.  His time was the 2nd best performance ever at the State meet on the Apalachee Park course.  He was just 1.1 seconds back of Patrick Koon's time of 14:56.70. Koon, the 2024 graduate of Leon HS, now running at Stanford,  holds the course record of 14:50.  Mantecon led a Belen team that saw their 5 scorers all in the top 10.  Sr. Joseph Socarras was 3rd, Sr. Justin Ruiz was 4th, Sr. Marco Prieguez was 5th and So. Armando Cruz was 7th. 


The Belen boys were broken up by 2nd place So. Andrew Beroset of Gulf Breeze

and Sr. Joushua Gammage of Dillard.  In all the day saw 37 runners go sub-16 in all Divisions.

Sr. Gino Palazzolo of Buchholz took command of his race just past the two-mile in winning the 4A boys race.  He posted the 3rd fastest time of the day of 15:23.60 as he led a field that had 13 boys go under 16:00.  2nd in the ...
